We recommend you use SFTP, instead of FTP, as it is a secure connection. You don’t want to transmit your logins where anyone can grab them.
You will still use FTP software to use SFTP, the main difference for you is when you set it up, you’ll change a setting from FTP to SFTP, and change the port number.
Once installed, you will add your site information to the client but going to
for FileZilla: File > Site Manager
for CoreFTP: File > Connect
If you are going to use SFTP, contact us for the port number. Then you will use the following information:
Username: firstname.lastname@example.org – If you don’t use SFTP, we recommend you create a new FTP login that does not use your Control Panel login information
Password: Your Password
Files must be placed inside the “public_html” directory to be live online.
