Once the plugin is installed, you will find FAQs on the left sidebar.
First, create categories. Just click FAQ Categories on the left sidebar and at the least, just type a short name there. You can make lots of categories. Use of categories makes it easier for your website visitors to find the information they are looking for. As always, keep your website user friendly.
Then, you just click (from the left sidebar) Add New. Now you can write your first FAQ. The Title section of the post page is the question part of the Frequently asked questions. That would be this area:
Then you write the answer to the question in the body of the writing area, same as you would for any WordPress page or post.
Reminder: make sure select a category before publishing. You can select more than one category, if it is applicable to that specific FAQ.
Pro Tip: Always click Save Draft. If you browser or computer crashes you don’t want to lose your work.
From here, you need an actual FAQ page. You’ll go to the Pages link on the left sidebar and create a page named FAQ.
Once there, you’ll make sure you are on the Text tab. That is over here:
Then, copy and paste this code onto the page:
The plugin site has information on other short codes (that’s what that
[qa] is called): https://wordpress.org/plugins/q-and-a/installation/ if you want to get fancy.
When you click the Publish button, WordPress will automatically create your categories and FAQs for you. Any time you create a new category or FAQ, it is automatically added to your FAQ page.
If you don’t like how the Q’s and A’s look, well, there’s not a lot you can do about that without calling your friendly neighborhood web designer/developer. :-)
